custom Monette 993 for sale

This is a Custom Monette Copy of a 993 built for me by Jim Becker at Osmun Music...I asked for the darkest, roundest, smoothest, sound I could get out of a trumpet and still sound like a trumpet and this is what he came up with...It has hard nickel plated valves (like getzen but smoother IMHO) It has light weight and heavy valve caps...and a custom reciever (similiar to bach) to lighten the articulation...the horn plays great! He also made a square slide in addition to the ovate slide that crispens up the articulation and brightens the upper register...2 horns in one!!! I used this horn primarily for small group jazz but have played it professionally in virtually all venues, salsa, quintet, big band, tejano, rock groups etc. I am going back to school and have to sell some horns. I payed about 2500 for this horn and can let it go for 1850 including shipping.

horns for sale: 1939 Blessing Artist

1939 Blessing Artist...What a player! This horn has been to my repair technician (Pete Rodriguez in San Antonio) who in my opinion is the best in Texas! The horn has no valve leaks and has had the valves aligned due to worn felts...I bought this horn as "another back up" and have recently decided to go back to school... I can't afford to keep a bunch of horns around. This is a great trumpet that really projects with a great, balanced spectrum...highs, mids, and lows...it is a .466 bore but due to the tighter wrap plays more like a Medium large Bach...I did some small group jazz stuff with this horn last month and was very pleased it also plays quite effortlessly "for me" in the upper register... big G's/A's.

My trumpet.

After calling Jim Becker at Osmun Music on the advice of Trent Austin and asked him about my options...I played many a Monette trumpet while living in the Pacific Northwest and even had a friend who went on to work for Dave at the factory...anyways, back to the horn.
I told Jim that I was looking for a horn similiar to the monette 993...a dark, big, broad tone that will still leave me some flexibility in the upper register...I sent him the horn and he rebuilt the valves stripping the original chrome and replating them to hard nickel (like getzen)...He then drew me one of his leadpipes that matched my bell and bent me a slide...he also retro fitted my old slide so that I could still use it.
I will post later on how it plays as this is getting long...but I will say it plays GREAT!!! Jim Becker is a master at his trade and is VERY good at taking what I told him I wanted and putting it to brass...I could not be more pleased and can not recommend Osmun's music enough...My horn will NEVER go any where else...
And now for some pics of another horn I bought recently: a 1939 Blessing Artist....what a great horn! this horn has just the right amount of resistance and has a great upper register...I bought this horn as a back up as it has obviously been taken care of/ sat in a closet for 50 years unplayed...(check out the original leather case) but find my self playing it more and more.
